Sage 100 Product & Platform Updates You Should Know
Windows 10 End-of-Life and Sage 100 Compatibility
Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10, and Sage has published guidance on how this impacts Sage 100 users.
Here’s what matters most:
- Sage will continue testing payroll tax updates for compatibility with Windows 10 through the December 2025 year-end payroll release (Payroll 2.26.0).
- Beginning with Sage 100 2026 (currently planned for April 2026), Sage 100 will no longer be tested or supported on Windows 10.
- This also applies to upcoming 2025.2 and 2024.4 releases.
What this means for you:
If your Sage 100 environment still runs on Windows 10, now is the right time to plan a move to a supported operating system before installing future releases.
Sage 100 Security Update — Action May Be Required
To strengthen security, Sage has begun blocking outdated encryption ciphers when Sage 100 connects to licensing servers. Older operating systems — including Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 — may be affected.
If communication with Sage’s licensing servers is blocked:
- Your subscription expiration date may not update
- Sage 100 will continue running until the stored expiration date is reached
- After that, the system may enter read-only mode within 45–60 days
If you’re unsure whether your environment is impacted, we recommend checking proactively. Contact us today to get Sage 100 support.
