Sage MAS 90 EDI - EDI Advantage 2010

Gives You More Power and Control
Than Any Other

Whether you're a power user looking to get the job done quickly or a technical guru desiring total application control, EDI Advantage 2010 solutions have what you need.

The same behind-the-scenes sophistication that enables power users to experience the freedom of Hands-Free™ Mode is also responsible for satisfying the needs of technical gurus or consultants interested in hands-on control.

Not Interested in Total Control?
Remember, if you're not interested in "total control" and you want an EDI system that works like an appliance (set it and forgot it), you don't need to get into these details. Check out the information on Hands-Free™ Mode instead.

We've put together the overviews and examples below so that if you're technically-oriented, you can get a feel for the kind of solution EDI Advantage 2010 is and what you can expect from it.

Ease of Use
EDI Advantage 2010 is used from within the familiar Sage MAS 90 or 200 environment, with EDI Advantage 2010 software options appearing on the MAS 90 or 200 menu system.

Interoperability with Other Solutions
Because EDI Advantage 2010 solutions do not modify Sage MAS 90 or 200 source code, it's likely you can safely use modifications from other developers. You can find more details here.

Follows Sage Business Rules
EDI Advantage 2010 accesses the MAS 90 or 200 database using Sage MAS Application Program Interface (API) protocols and tools, the preferred database access method. This ensures that ERP system data integrity is maintained when EDI data is integrated.

Application Control Enables Problem Solving
EDI Advantage 2010 is an integrated solution that resides within the Sage MAS 90 or 200 environment. In many important ways, EDI Advantage 2010 designers can extend application control to the EDI Advantage 2010 consultant or technical user so that complex EDI problems can be solved more easily.

In other words, because of the way EDI Advantage 2010 is designed, technically-oriented users can have more control over the application than is the case with other products. By using the mapping tools we provide, by taking advantage of hook programs, by being able to use very flexible and detailed processing options to set things up to work in many different ways, you can control the application.

In comparison, EDI systems that operate outside this environment may struggle to achieve the objectives of integration using general purpose tools such as the Visual Integrator module. In some cases, the nature of the EDI requirement or the structure of the data doesn't lend itself to the use of VI and a solution may not be readily available. Accordingly, these external systems don't have the ability to give effective application control to technical users and consultants. As external systems with fewer options and less flexibility, they often can't provide the depth of tools or control that advanced users and consultants may desire.

Mapping Tools
As a technical user or consultant, you may prefer to work with trading partner mapping yourself rather than requesting changes from us. EDI Advantage 2010 mapping tools give you the power and control to make changes to trading partner maps whenever you need them.

Processing Options
EDI Advantage 2010 provides rich processing options, giving you the power and control to configure inbound integration processing and outbound document generation with the options that work best for your business.

For example, you can take advantage of comprehensive features such as the default warehouse matrix, which allows you to designate 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice warehouses for pulling any particular item from your inventory. Or use EDI Advantage 2010 to control pricing and terms decisions by customer and by item.

Superior Audit Reporting
Because it operates within the accounting system environment, EDI Advantage 2010 audits transations all the way through the integration process. As a result, you'll have the earliest possible warning of errors in incoming trading partner data, giving you the ability to review and correct them before they cause additional problems in your data.

In comparison, external EDI systems that exchange data through a rigid interface with the accounting system can provide only a limited amount of audit reporting and the timing of the reporting may not be optimal.

Developer Tools
Through the use of Master Developer "hook programs", EDI Advantage 2010 allows you to implement modifications to the system without modifying EDI Advantage 2010 source code.

For example, hook program can be used by a developer to add special processing to maps, create custom audit report messages, or make modifications to the way EDI Advantage 2010 functions.
